A couple of years ago I decided that I needed to explore more of my own Home country – Costa Rica. The best way to do that was to figure out a way to do it on a budget, and that’s when I decided to rig my truck. Little by little it’s been a work in progress and I’ve been exploring some of my favorite corners of Costa Rica with my co-pilot, Taco the dog.

I drive a Nissan Frontier NP300, 2.5 Turbo Diesel Pickup Truck. I’ve added a custom made aluminum wedge camper by Fort Overlanding, makes camping super easy as it pops up in seconds. My favorite piece of my setup is my drawer set, I have them completely stocked and organized 100% of them - so I can camp and/or explore anytime without having to pack & re-pack. I have also added an external battery system and a Dometic fridge, makes cooking WAY better - together with my awning and camping chairs or hammock. Keeping it simple, all I need.

Overlanding changed my life, after living on and off in Colorado for a couple of years I had a little trouble trying to figure out what “Home” was. I quickly realized it could be a beating heart, my kids, a certain location in my truck or even a space in another country where you can be yourself & just be.
